Journey across a beautiful but untamed kingdom, face dangerous foes, and decide which dragon will shape the future in this epic high-fantasy adventure. ---------------- Our first program in the new West Auckland location. An immersive course that emphasises storytelling and critical thinking. Children will develop writing, artistic and social science skills while exploring epic gaming narratives. During our holiday programmes, we structure the week’s activities. Attendees will design their character from the ground up and will launch themselves into a week long narrative adventure. Students will work in groups with an experienced Game Master to go on quests, battle monsters, and work towards the big goal of their narrative week. Will they be able to pull it off? Only if they are crafty and brave, and the dice roll in their favour. We teach them how to use the tabletop game systems, how combat works, and how to participate in a social, collaborative narrative. The campaign will challenge attendees with puzzles and encounters to resolve, all based on learning objectives taken straight from the New Zealand Curriculum. We develop stories for their character and how they fit into the world they are exploring, having a great time doing it! In the upcoming holiday programme, we will run 3D character modelling sessions, as well as traditional illustration and miniature painting workshops to create additional artifacts that tie the child to their character. Weekly registered attendees will receive a set of dice, and their activity workbook -everything they need to bring home to share and continue their adventure. Specifics: - Students will need to bring adequate food and drink for the duration of their lesson. - All other resources needed will be provided.
